A probabilistic precipitation forecast has been issued for the 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on Saturday, November 23rd, to 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 24th. The forecast details potential precipitation amounts and the likelihood of receiving varying levels of rain across several locations.

For Baker City, the predicted precipitation amounts range from 0.01 inches (low end) to 0.27 inches (high end), with a 78% chance of receiving at least 0.01 inches. The chances of seeing higher amounts are lower, with only a 1% chance for at least 0.50 inches and no expected precipitation reaching 1.00 inches or more.

In Banner Summit, expected amounts are higher, with a low end of 0.50 inches and a high end of 1.08 inches. The probability of receiving at least 0.01 inches is 100%, with a 97% chance for at least 0.25 inches and 76% for at least 0.50 inches. There is a 8% chance of accumulating at least 1.00 inches and a 1% chance for at least 2.00 inches.

Boise has a predicted range from 0.08 to 0.39 inches, with a 93% chance of receiving at least 0.01 inches and a 23% chance for at least 0.25 inches. There is a 2% possibility of reaching at least 0.50 inches.

At Bogus Basin, forecasts indicate amounts between 0.30 and 0.94 inches. The likelihood of receiving at least 0.01 inches is 98%, with an 81% chance for at least 0.25 inches and 44% for at least 0.50 inches. There is a 4% chance for 1.00 inches.

For Burns, the predictions show a low of 0.01 inches and a high of 0.57 inches, with a 74% chance of at least 0.01 inches and a 24% chance for at least 0.25 inches.

Caldwell is expected to see precipitation ranging from 0.06 to 0.43 inches, with an 87% probability for at least 0.01 inches.

The forecast is influenced by the continuation of an atmospheric river bringing moisture to the West. Over the past 72 hours, Schneider Meadows and Deadwood Summit in the Wallowa Mountains and the West Central Idaho Mountains have recorded significant liquid water equivalent measurements of 4.2 inches and 3.2 inches, respectively. Snow levels are expected to drop from 7,500 feet to between 5,000-6,000 feet as cooler air moves in.
