**Cold Weather Expected in Southeast Oregon and Southwest Idaho Beginning This Week**

The U.S. National Weather Service in Boise, Idaho, has forecasted a significant drop in temperatures for parts of Southeast Oregon and Southwest Idaho this week, driven by an influx of very cold Canadian air. This cold air mass is expected to lower temperatures by roughly 10 to 15 degrees below normal across the region.

The forecasted morning low and afternoon high temperatures for Tuesday, January 14, show chilly conditions in various cities and areas. Highlights of Tuesday’s forecast include:

- **Baker City:** Morning low of 19°F and afternoon high of 39°F.

- **Banner Summit:** 19°F in the morning and reaching 31°F by the afternoon.

- **Boise:** A morning low of 21°F with a high of 38°F during the afternoon.

- **Bogus Basin:** Morning temperatures at 20°F, climbing to 28°F later in the day.

- **Brundage Mountain:** Low of 15°F in the morning, with an afternoon high of 29°F.

- **Burns:** Morning temperatures at 16°F, reaching an afternoon high of 30°F.

- **Caldwell:** 20°F for the morning low and 40°F in the afternoon.

- **Fairfield:** Morning low temperatures at 31°F, with a high of 34°F later in the day.

- **Idaho City:** The warmest of the highlighted areas on Tuesday, with a morning low of 37°F and an afternoon high of 49°F.

As this cold air continues moving into the U.S. later in the week into the weekend, temperatures are expected to remain below average, emphasizing the need for the community to prepare for freezing conditions.
