Caldwell Police Cut Part 1 Crimes With Tech
The Caldwell Police Department recently shared an update on its efforts to improve community safety. The department has implemented a precision-based crime-fighting model that uses intelligence, proactive strategies, and data-driven decision-making. By adopting state-of-the-art technology and advanced crime data analytics, Caldwell has seen a year-over-year reduction in Part 1 crimes.
According to the latest breakdown of calls for service as of September 15th, 2025, proactive calls for service increased by 75.40% when compared with the same period in 2024, rising from 11,744 to 20,599. Reactive calls decreased by 5.78%, from 19,423 calls in 2024 to 18,301 calls in 2025. Overall, total calls for service grew by 24.81%, from 31,167 in 2024 to 38,900 in 2025.
The number of arrests increased slightly from 833 in 2024 to 855 in 2025, a rise of 2.64%. Directed Patrol responses saw a significant increase of 281.63%, going from 1,835 in 2024 to 7,003 in 2025. In addition, Part 1 crimes declined by 13.96%, falling from 709 to 610 reported incidents.
The Caldwell Police Department continues to work on staying ahead of crime trends and maintaining a safe community for all residents.
