Charlotte, N.C.— Easter's Home, a 21-unit apartment complex for people who have experienced chronic homelessness, officially opened in Charlotte.

The project was created when Caldwell Presbyterian Church converted its old education building into faith-based affordable housing, in partnership with DreamKey Partners, Roof Above, and the City of Charlotte Housing & Neighborhood Services department.

Ralph Fulmore, one of the new residents, said, "It's hard to believe that there's actually people that just care about strangers." Fulmore and fellow tenant Kevin Gittens were present at the opening.
